Xcel Bowl and Xcel Projects - Notice of Temporary Closure
The reality of the situation has really hit home today, and we know that the implications of managing Coronavirus is having an effect on us all. The Directors of Towy Community Church Limited have taken the decision to close Xcel Bowl, Xcel Community Shop and Xcel Furniture to the public with effect from 22nd March until further notice.
It’s been a difficult few days for many of us to see Xcel virtually empty, but we all now have our role to play in slowing down the spread of this virus. People’s health and wellbeing is our top priority. Please see our social media sites for opening hours for the remainder of this week. Our office will be in contact with anyone who has booked a delivery or events on or after 22nd March to arrange a credit note or refund, where appropriate.
Please note that during the period of closure, we are unable to accept donations and would urge you to refrain from leaving items on site, as we have no capacity to process them. There is CCTV on site and we retain the right to prosecute for fly tipping should this advice be ignored.
Importantly, we recognise the needs that will arise within our local community as a result of this situation. The Carmarthen Foodbank will remain open during its normal operating hours, and voucher referrals will continue to be taken. Further information regarding appointments and collection procedures to maintain social distancing will be published via the Foodbank web site shortly.
We will continue to operate this week until Saturday 21st March between the hours of 11am and 7pm. You can call and speak to a member of our front of house team on 01267 225 990 should you need to.
This is not a decision we’ve taken lightly, and we will continue to monitor the situation daily. Any updates to our service will be posted via our e-list, our website xcelprojectcymru.co.uk, and on our social media channels.
We appreciate that you will be disappointed with this decision. Although we have not officially been advised by UK government to close, we are at a point where we need to take immediate action to ensure the future survival of our organisation. We must have the ability now and in the future to continue the work of reaching people and changing lives in our community.
Our priority now is to protect our staff, our customers, and to safeguard the future of this facility for us all. We will now enter into a period of planning to ensure that when the world starts turning again, we will be right here on the other side, ready to welcome you all back.
Our prayers are with you all, and we thank you for your understanding at this challenging time.
